Meet the Brains, Hearts, hands and bow tie
Behind Richmond Bridal Consulting

Emmett Hickam  /  Owner

Emmett Hickam brings creativity, inspiration, passion and organization to every event he produces, whether it’s an intimate gathering for 25 or a no-holds-barred wedding for 450. With over a decade of experience in wedding and event planning, Emmett works closely with a network of trusted and talented vendors to make sure your event expresses your style, values and aspirations— all within budget.  It’s your big day and Emmett will make sure it’s one you and your guests will never forget. Before founding Richmond Bridal Consulting, Emmett was a top planner for a vintage wedding design center.

Emmett was born and raised in Richmond, VA, and holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University. And that bow tie he always wears?  Yes, he sleeps in it.

MONICA VAN ARSDALE

If you grew up in the same Richmond neighborhood as Monica Van Arsdale, you knew that the party was always at her house. At an early age, she learned from her mother the irresistible draw of good food and drink, danceable music and a warm and welcoming environment. Since then, she’s planned and supervised everything from weddings and other milestone events to nonprofit fundraisers to intimate parties.  “I love logistics,” she proudly admits. (Someone has to love them.)

Monica has a bachelor’s degree from Longwood University and is passionate about her volunteer work with charities like the Special Olympics and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. When she’s not working or volunteering, you can find her and her new husband playing co-ed football and kickball with their great group of friends.

Anne Heath

You name it, Anne Heath has organized it. Over the past 25 years, she has planned and directed weddings, baby and bridal showers, sweet 16 parties, proms, and Halloween haunted houses, just to name a few. No event is too large or too small for her. She is meticulous and creative, paying attention to even the smallest of details.

In addition to working with Richmond Bridal Consulting, Anne is a co-owner of Fantasia Sound Disc Jockeys, so she has years of experience and knowledge about event entertainment — what it takes to make the fun flow and the memories endure.

Anne has a dual degree — one in religion— from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College), which has made her Richmond Bridal Consulting’s resident expert on ceremonies, religious traditions and etiquette.
